Got all five University offers, but just failed my Art & Design Foundation. What can I do?

I managed to achieve all five offers for my Universities, some being in the top 5 for Art & Design. All their offers required me to just pass the course. However, due to some small decisions in time for the project, caused me to fail my referal project, and now I have been requested to leave the course.

What does this mean now? Will I lose ALL my places? Will some universities re-concider and still let me join their University course? Or will I be forced into clearing? I have 11 GCSE’s and 4 A-Levels (One being general studies) to back me also. What happens next?

It is up to the universities.  You could try contacting them to see if they are prepared to commit to a decision now – in effect you will be presenting your results early.  If they all say no, you would able to try through UCAS Extra and then Clearing.

You could have to work hard to persuade universities.  A strong portfolio and a transcript of results from other parts of the course might help, as would evidence that you would be a good student despite the failure on the project.

It might also be worth exploring with your current college whether leaving is really the only option, perhaps appealing against the decision if there are any grounds for it.
