My son and I live in Wales but his choice of Univeristy will be in England. I would like clarification as to where he should apply for student finance. Is it where the university is located so in his case England or is it through our local authority in Wales. In other words if he studies in England will he be an English student or a Welsh student studying in England.
At present he is studying Art and Design at foundation level and hopes to go to University in 2011 will he be affected by the planned rise in tution fees etc.

You should apply to Student Finance Wales
I believe the proposed changes to tuition fees still have to be enacted, so the future is a little uncertain. The proposal is to introduce the changes with effect from 2012.
